SSE Renewables is investing up to GBP50 million (US$68.8 million) for the next two years to repower the Tummel Bridge hydropower plant project in the Scottish Highlands, UK.
The repowering work will extend the operational life of the project by at least 40 years and increase its generating capacity from 34 MW to 38 MW. The plant can supply up to 40 MW peak when operates at optimum conditions.
Global Energy Group will carry out the fabrication and modification for the project while Global Infrastructure will be responsible for enabling works including site establishment and superstructure bracing work.
