Feedback invited on early-stage design concepts for 1.5 GW Offshore Wind Farm in the UK

Dogger Bank D has launched a non-statutory consultation to provide communities and stakeholders with an update on the project’s proposed onshore converter station and to invite feedback on early-stage design concepts.

The consultation runs from Tuesday 23 June 2026 to Monday 3 August 2026. The Dogger Bank D project team will also host two in-person events in Beverley, East Yorkshire and an online webinar in early July.

The non-statutory consultation relates to the onshore infrastructure for Dogger Bank D, a proposed fourth phase of the world’s largest offshore wind farm, the 3.6 GW Dogger Bank Wind Farm currently in construction off the coast of England in the North Sea.

A fourth Dogger Bank phase has the future potential to unlock up to an additional 1.5 GW in renewable electricity capacity at the Dogger Bank site for Britain’s energy system and would make the world’s biggest offshore wind farm even larger.

Dogger Bank D is being developed by 50:50 joint venture partners SSE and Equinor. The project would be located more than 210 km off the Yorkshire coast and would comprise up to 113 installed offshore wind turbines on fixed bottom foundations as well as an offshore substation platform at the 262 km2 seabed site. Also proposed is associated export and inter-array subsea cabling connecting with onshore infrastructure in East Riding of Yorkshire for transmission of the electricity generated by the wind farm to Britain’s national grid.
