Solarcentury Africa has partnered with SunMoz, a special purpose vehicle with a presence in Mozambique, to help build a solar power project with a capacity of up to 100 MW AC in central Mozambique.
The owners of the UK-incorporated company Renewable Energy Services Africa (RESA) and the Mozambican investment firm Checunda Investimentos formed SunMoz in 2019 to market the Chimuara solar park project in the country of South-East Africa.
Approximately 250 ha (618 acres) of land have been secured by SunMoz for the Chimuara project, which will be implemented in phases beginning with 30 MW AC. The grid in Mozambique will receive power from the solar plant.
