SMA Solar Technology AG is supplying 57 Medium Voltage Power Stations (MVPS) 5500 and two SMA Power Plant Controllers to the Limondale solar farm in New South Wales, Australia. The MVPS combines two Sunny Central 2750-EV inverters with a transformer and switchgear – in a single container.
The project is located around 14km south from the town of Balranald in south-western New South Wales, on a land adjacent to the Transgrid electrical substation that connects the transmission line from Buronga to Darlington Point.
Belectric Solar & Battery GmbH, part of the Limondale owner German Innogy SE, will take control of the construction works (EPC) and the operation and maintenance (O&M). US manufacturer Sunpower Corp. is supplying its Performance Series (P-Series) solar panels for the facility. Complete commissioning is scheduled for 2020. Module shipments will commence in January 2019.
