China-based Silk Road Fund will join DEWA in the development of the 700MW DEWA concentrated solar power (CSP) project in Dubai.

Silk Road Fund has acquired 24.01% equity interest in the project, which is the  the fourth phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the world's largest single-site concentrated solar power plant.

Using a state-of-the-art combination of a central tower and parabolic trough technologies to collect energy from the sun, the project is projected to deliver electricity at a tariff of US $7.30 cents per kilowatt-hour 24 hours a day, thus competing with fossil fuel generated electricity.
