Green Power Investment has contracted Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy to supply turbines for the development of the 112 MW Ishikari offshore wind power project in Japan.
This order consists of 14 SG 8.0-167 DD offshore wind turbines, each of which has a capacity of 8 megawatts and features a rotor that is 167 meters in length. In addition, a full-scope service agreement for 15 years is part of the order. It is anticipated that the construction of the Ishikari offshore wind power project will start in July 2023.
The SG 8.0-167 DD was developed with the specific goal of performing well in offshore environments. It has been optimized to work in both high and low ambient temperatures, as well as typhoons and seismic activity, and it operates at 50 Hertz. The turbines are also designed to meet local codes and standards.
