Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has closed the acquisition of the assets of the European division of Senvion Services, as well as its intellectual property (IP). The transaction amounts to approximately 9.0 GW of fleet serviced in 13 countries and thus raises the company's service portfolio to 69 GW worldwide.
Senvion Deutschland and its European subsidiaries are part of this transaction, and will now operate as service providers within the Siemens Gamesa Services unit.
As reported on October 21, 2019, Siemens Gamesa continues to make progress in closing updates related to the acquisition of all the shares of Ria Blades SA, Senvion’s company which owns and operates the blade production plant business for wind turbines in Vagos (Portugal) and certain additional assets. The objective of closing the acquisition of Ria de Blades is maintained before the end of March 2020.
Pending certain closing conditions, the price to be paid in cash for the whole transaction amounts to EUR200 (US$222) million.
