Green Infra Wind Energy Ltd (GIWEL), Sembcorp Energy India's step-down subsidiary, has signed a long-term wind-solar hybrid energy supply agreement with Saint-Gobain India.
Over a 25-year period, Sembcorp will provide 33 MW of renewable energy to Saint-Gobain's manufacturing sites in Sriperumbudur, Perundurai, and Tiruvallur. The renewable energy facility will be developed by GIWEL through a special purpose vehicle (SPV). It would own a 74 percent share in the SPV, with Saint-Gobain India owning the rest.
The wind-solar hybrid project is expected to be developed within a year.
