Schroders Plc, a UK asset management company, has completed the acquisition of a 75% stake in Greencoat Capital Holdings Limited.
From the deal initially discussed in December 2021, Schroders will buy the shareholding for an initial consideration of GBP358 million (US$469.69 million) in a cash deal that included a potential earn-out and options to eventually take full ownership over Greencoat. Following the closing of this transaction, Greencoat Capital will now be known as Schroders Greencoat.
Established in 2009, Greencoat is a specialist investment manager focussing on renewable energy infrastructure investing, including wind, solar, bioenergy, and heat. Greencoat operates nearly 200 power generation assets across the UK, Europe, and the US, with an aggregate net generation capacity of over 3 gigawatts.
