Royal Dutch Shell and Singapore state firm JTC Corp have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the development of a solar farm on a part of a landfill in southern Singapore.
The 72 MWp solar photovoltaic project will be developed in Semakau landfill which is about two kilometers from Shell's Bukom manufacturing site in Singapore. The solar farm will be built on about 60 hectares of land.
The project is supported by Singapore's National Environment Agency (NEA) and Energy Market Authority (EMA).
