Argentina's National Electricity Regulatory Entity (Enre) has authorized the entry to the Wholesale Electricity Market (MEM) of the Los Teros Wind Farm, with 122.56 megawatts of power, located in the Buenos Aires town of Azul and owned by the firm YPF Energía Eléctrica.
The project also endorsed the construction of a new 140 megawatt transformer station, to be called ET Los Teros. Upon completion, the 40 GE wind turbines with a combined capacity of 174 MW will generate 550,000 MWh per year, enough to meet the power demand of between 125,000 and 175,000 homes.
The regulators also established that YPF Energía Eléctrica must comply with all the observations and technical requirements presented by Transba and the Compañía Administradora del Mercado Mayorista Eléctrico (Cammesa), in order to guarantee the proper functioning of the Argentine Interconnection System (Sadi).
