The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW) has approved the construction of a 149 MW Badger State Solar Project in Jefferson County to produce energy for Dairyland Power Cooperative.
Ranger Power plans to build and operate the Badger State solar farm on about 1,200 acres in the towns of Oakland and Jefferson, about 25 miles southeast of Madison.
The project is expected to generate electricity for more than 20,000 homes. The construction is planned to start in 2021 and scheduled to start the commercial operations in 2022.
