DESRI, in partnership with Ranger Power, announced that the Heartwood and White Tail Solar projects achieved financial close with their project lenders and initiated construction.
Heartwood Solar (Heartwood) is a 150-megawatt (MWac) solar facility in Hillsdale County, MI. White Tail Solar (White Tail) is a 140 MWac solar facility in Washtenaw County, MI. Heartwood has a power purchase agreement with Consumers Energy. Heartwood is expected to begin commercial operations in 2026. White Tail has power purchase agreements with the Lansing Board of Water and Light and MPPA. White Tail is expected to begin commercial operations before year-end 2025.
Financing for the construction of the projects was provided by a consortium of lenders, including Fifth Third Bank and Zions Bancorporation as Coordinating Lead Arrangers, and Bank of America, Commerzbank and SUMITOMO MITSUI TRUST BANK, LIMITED, New York Branch as Joint Lead Arrangers. Primoris Services Corporation's Renewable Energy business serves as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor for the solar arrays. The Consulting Engineers Group (CEG) will serve as the EPC for high voltage.
