DTE Energy announced that construction has been completed at the 80 MW Pine River Solar Park located in mid-Michigan’s Pine River Township.
Equipped with over 180,000 solar panels, the park is designed to generate enough clean energy to power nearly 20,000 homes. This project marks the second of three new solar parks DTE plans to connect to the grid in 2025, with five additional parks currently under construction. These initiatives are part of DTE’s CleanVision MIGreenPower program, Michigan’s largest community solar initiative, which supports the company's goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions and meeting the state's renewable energy standard of 60% by 2035.
DTE currently generates enough renewable energy to power over 750,000 homes and aims to increase this to nearly 6 million homes by 2042. The MIGreenPower program has enrolled nearly 100,000 residential and 1,600 business customers, with plans to add more than 2,400 megawatts of new wind and solar capacity over the next decade.
