Toyota Motor Corp and Dow Inc have entered into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the utilities Louisville Gas and Electric Company (LG&E) and Kentucky Utilities Company for the energy produced by the 100 MW solar park in Kentucky.
The 20-year contract is part of the documents filed for approval with the Kentucky Public Service Commission. The solar farm will be developed by ibV Energy Partners at the Hardin County.
Under the deal, Toyota will acquire 50% of the solar farm's energy output, Dow will purchase 25%, and the remaining 25% will be for the utilities' customers.
The solar project is expected to be operational by 2022 once approved.
