Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) has submitted a proposal for the “Project Coyote” green hydrogen and ammonia production facility at the Willow Cale Industrial Park in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada.
The facility is set to manufacture approximately 140,000 tons of hydrogen and 700,000 tons of ammonia annually, with applications spanning both domestic and international markets. To accomplish this, the project necessitates a 1,000 MW power supply from BC Hydro, enabling the production of green hydrogen through electrolysis, which will subsequently undergo processing into green ammonia. Substantial planning efforts have been undertaken in collaboration with local and regional leaders.
The government of British Columbia has extended financial support to the city of Prince George over a two-year period, aimed at transforming it into a central hub for hydrogen-related activities. This decision is underpinned by the province's recognition of Prince George's as an ideal location, given the burgeoning presence and potential of the hydrogen industry in the region.
