ACCIONA Energía has started the construction of the 280 MW Forty Mile wind project located in the County of Forty Mile No. 8, Alberta, Canada.
Developed by Renewable Energy Systems Canada, Inc. (RES), the wind farm is set to be ACCIONA Energía's largest wind undertaking in the Alberta region. Its construction, comprising 49 Nordex turbines, is expected to be completed by Q1 of 2025. The project holds potential for future growth, with plans to expand its capacity to 400 MW in a second phase.
With the commencement of the construction phase, the Forty Mile project is anticipated to generate considerable economic benefits for the local community.
