Pattern Energy commissions 150 MW wind project in Canada

Pattern Energy Group LP has announced the completion of its Lanfine Wind project in Alberta, Canada. This 150 MW project relies on 35 Vestas V150 4.3 MW turbines and has already begun its operations. Lanfine Wind has also signed a 10-year financially settled power purchase agreement with West Fraser. This agreement allows West Fraser to acquire roughly 50% of the facility's output, which will help the company achieve its goal of reducing scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 46.2% before the year 2030.

The Lanfine Wind project is critical to Alberta, Canada's renewable energy needs and will help provide clean energy to customers throughout the region. Alberta is currently fighting against the negative environmental consequences of their energy industry, and the Lanfine Wind project stands out as an example of how renewable energy projects can help minimize the environmental impact of Alberta's energy industry.

The wind farm has the capacity to power 30,000 homes in Alberta each year with a total investment of CAD350 million (US$281.39 million) for the project.
