Construction started for 152 MW wind project in Canada

Enel Green Power Canada Inc., a unit of Enel Green Power, has started the construction phase of its 152 MW Grizzly Bear Creek wind farm project located in Alberta, Canada.

The wind farm will consist of 34 turbines and will be developed in the counties of Minburn and Vermilion River. The project has the capacity to generate 528 GWh of energy each year, enough to avoid 343,000 tons of CO2 emissions and meet the electricity needs of over 73,000 Alberta households annually.

The construction of the project will create 250 temporary job opportunities and will generate over US$80 million in local tax revenues. The wind farm is expected to be operational by the end of 2022.
