The Agency for the Promotion of Private Investment (Proinversión) has signed a concession contract with Acciona for the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of two new electricity transmission lines that will benefit 370,000 people between Ica and Poroma, south of Peru; and Cáclic and Jaén, north of Peru.
The projects involved are the 220kV Ica-Poroma Link, extensions, and associated substations that will allow the transmission capacity between Ica and Poroma to be expanded and the energy from the Punta Lomitas and Dunas generation plants to be injected into the National Interconnection Electric System (SEIN), and the ITC Enlace 220kV Cáclic-Jaén Norte extensions and associated substations which seeks to improve the quality of the supply of electrical energy to the Bagua-Jaén electrical system.
ACCIONA will operate the two electricity transmission lines for the next 30 years after they come into commercial operation, scheduled for December 2026 and August 2027, respectively. The two projects represent a total investment of EUR119.6 million (US$132.1 million).
