Prodiel SL, a renewable projects infrastructure developer based in Spain, has been selected to provide the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) service for the development of the 244 MWp Sol del Desierto solar photovoltaic project in the Atacama Desert, Chile.
The solar farm will consist of more than 580,000 PV modules installed over 445 hectares of land area. It will also include a 220/33kV lift substation, a 220 kV Maneuver Substation extension, and a 1.7 km long high-voltage line. The project can generate up to 734 GWh of energy per year.
Once operational, the energy produced will be sold to Engie Energia Chile under a power purchase agreement (PPA).
