Vibrant Energy has signed its third power purchase agreement (PPA) with Amazon for a new 198 MW wind farm in Osmanabad, Maharashtra, India.
The installation of this project is expected to generate 6,97,261 MWh of energy annually and is projected to reduce 4,94,137 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. Amazon had previously announced its partnership with Vibrant for its initial two wind-solar hybrid projects in India. With the addition of this wind project, Amazon has achieved a significant milestone, boasting a renewable energy capacity of over 1.1 GW in India, making it the largest corporate purchaser of renewable energy in the country. The project is progressing as planned and is set to be operational by early 2025.
