IndiGrid along with Amperehour Solar Technology, has received a Letter of Award (LOA) from BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) to design, supply, test, install, commission, operate, and maintain a 20 MW/40 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Delhi, India.
The project planned for a 12-year period under Build-Own-Operate-Transfer terms, aims to generate an annual revenue of INR20 million (US$240,392). The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) will provide 70% of the total capital investment through debt financing. The project's key focuses are energy time-shift (arbitrage) and ancillary services like frequency support, capacity upgrade deferral, and resource adequacy. IndiGrid prioritizes Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects due to the rising demand for energy storage caused by renewable energy expansion.
