Rezolv Energy, the Actis-backed independent power producer in Central and Southeastern Europe, through their project subsidiary First Looks Solutions S.R.L., has signed a 10-year virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) in Romania with Bekaert for output from its 461 MW Vifor wind farm in Buzau County, Romania.
The deal will enable Bekaert to purchase an additional 100 GWh of renewable power annually, cutting emissions by over 41,000 tonnes of CO2e. VIFOR, one of Europe's largest onshore wind farms near the Carpathian Mountains, will generate enough energy to power over 270,000 homes and avoid about 540,000 tonnes of CO2e each year.
Phase 1 will install 192 MW capacity, with plans to expand to 461 MW in Phase 2. Construction will be completed in 18 months, with VIFOR operational by the end of 2025.
