Gibson Energy Inc. announced that it has entered into a 15-year renewable power purchase agreement (PPA) with Capstone Infrastructure Corporation and Sawridge First Nation to take power from the Buffalo Atlee 2 and 4 wind farms located near Jenner, Alberta, Canada.
The Buffalo Atlee projects, with a total capacity of 26 MW, will fulfill over 50% of Gibson's yearly electricity requirements, reducing approximately 300,000 tonnes of carbon emissions. Developed in collaboration with the Sawridge First Nation, these projects are operated by Capstone and are currently under construction.
