Japan’s Panasonic Corporation has partnered with a Brazilian energy company Pontoon Clean Tech for the supply of green energy from a 500 MWp solar photovoltaic project in the state of Ceara in Brazil.
Pontoon Clean Tech is investing up to BRL1.6 billion (US$337.35 million) to build, manage, and operate the Intrepid solar photovoltaic complex. The project will feature about 935,000 solar panels installed on about 1,100-hectares land area.
Panasonic will purchase the energy from the solar plant under a 15-year power purchase agreement. The project is expected to enter the construction phase by the end of 2023.
