The Ohio Supreme Court has upheld the permit for the 20.7 MW Icebreaker wind farm to be located in Lake Erie, Cleveland, USA. The project was proposed by Fred. Olsen Renewables and Lake Erie Energy Development Co.
In a 6-1 ruling, the court dismissed arguments that the Ohio Power Siting Board issued an invalid siting permit for the proposed Lake Erie project in May 2020.
In 2019, the US Department of Energy, Coast Guard, and Army Corps of Engineers issued their environmental assessment and identified no significant environmental problems that will be caused by the project.
