The 20.7 MW Icebreaker offshore wind farm in Lake Erie has received the construction permit from the US Army Corps of Engineers. The project is located off the shores of Cleveland, Ohio.
The Lake Erie Energy Development Corp (LEEDCo) plans to start the construction project by 2021. The project features 6 wind turbines and is the first freshwater wind energy installation in the region.
The company is now getting the remaining approvals from the state for the project.
