Obsidian Solar Center LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Obsidian Renewables, LLC has received approval for its application for a site certificate (ASC) from the Energy Facility Siting Council (EFSC) of Oregon for the development of a 400 MW Obsidian solar photovoltaic project in Lake County.
The proposed project is located within a site boundary of approximately 3,921 acres (6.1 sq. miles) around Fort Rock near Christmas Valley. The project is expected to be operational by 2022 or 2023.
EFSC granted approval for two proposed facility scenarios; one is a solar PV without battery storage (PV only), and the other is solar PV with 50 MW of dispersed or centralized battery storage with solar PV.
