Spark Renewables has welcomed support from the New South Wales Government, through its Investment Delivery Authority (IDA), for the development of the Dinawan Energy Hub in the South West Renewable Energy Zone of New South Wales (NSW), Australia.
The NSW Government announced that the Dinawan Wind Farm and Dinawan Solar Farm, situated within the South West Renewable Energy Zone (REZ), have been selected as part of 14 key energy projects approved in the first round of the IDA process, which is designed to fast-track essential energy investments across NSW. These approved projects represent a robust pipeline of wind and solar generation along with battery storage initiatives, all of which will enhance the state’s energy security and contribute to the shift toward a modern and more reliable electricity system.
The NSW Government established the IDA to facilitate the execution of large-scale projects by offering targeted assistance for complex developments. To support this, a specialised planning assessment team within the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, along with a multi-agency Investment Taskforce under the Premier’s Department, has been created to streamline project approvals and delivery processes.
As NSW undertakes a once-in-a-generation transformation of its electricity system, Spark Renewables has expressed its support for the Government’s collaborative approach in working with project developers to eliminate barriers and encourage investment in the clean energy transition.
