The Nordex Group has been awarded a contract to supply eleven N163/5.X turbines to the Lithuanian project developer, Green Genius, for the development of the 62.7 MW Jurbarkas II wind project.
The order also includes a 25-year premium service contract for the maintenance of the turbines. The wind turbines will be installed on 159 m towers in an agricultural region near the town of Jurbarkas, whose average wind speeds exceed 7m/s, making the Delta4000 series turbines the perfect choice for the project. The development will be completed in 2024.
This order represents a further expansion of the Nordex Group into the Lithuanian market, following its debut in 2015 when it installed the Jurbarkas wind farm with eight N117/3000 turbines in the same region. Nordex has already set up a Service Point near the site, which will also service the turbines of Jurbarkas II following their commissioning. Green Genius will operate the turbines, which will have a combined capacity of 5.7 MW.
