Onde SA and Enefit Green have signed contracts for EUR26 million (US$27.9 million) for the development of an 80 MW Kelme I wind project in Lithuania. These two contracts involve the construction of the foundations and the laying of cables.
Enefit Green is on track to begin the first stage of the three-part development in northwestern Kelme. This year, the company will decide on the next stages, with the entire complex expected to add 320 MW of renewable energy to the local electricity market.
Kelme 1 is scheduled to be operational in 2024, with 14 Nordex turbines of 5.7 MW each. The total investment for the project is estimated at EUR145 million (US$154.5 million).
Enefit Green has wind and solar projects in various stages of development in Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, and Finland.
