The portion of the 566.5 MW Oitis wind farm complex project has entered into the national Incentive Regime for Infrastructure Development (REIDI) scheme in Brazil. REIDI is a tax incentive scheme for the project within the transport, energy, sanitation, and irrigation sectors.
The 467.5 MW of the wind project has been allowed to enter the REIDI scheme with the wind farm currently being developed by Neoenergia. The Spanish local unit of Iberdrola is set to invest about BRL2.55 billion (US$462.7 million) to build the project.
The project will be developed in the States of Piaui and Bahia. It will consist of 12 wind parks. The project is expected to start operation by December 2022.
