Neoen is nearing operation as it reached more than 90% completion of the Capella Solar, the 140 MW project involving two photovoltaic (PV) parks and battery storage facility in El Salvador.
The facility is scheduled to start commercial operation on April 1, 2020. Neoen is now working on the commissioning plan.
The Capella Solar PV project is composed of the Albireo I and Albireo II. Together, they generate enough electricity to power up 255,000 average households each year and account for 4% of the energy produced in El Salvador.
The project also includes a 3.3 MW/2.23 MWh lithium-ion battery system and a transmission line of 8.7 kilometers.
