AES and Corporacion Multi Inversiones(CMI) have completed a 100 MW Bosforo solar photovoltaic project in El Salvador.
The project has an investment cost of about US$160 million and composed of ten 10 MW solar farms built in La Union, Santa Ana, Sonsonate, Usulutan and San Salvador.
The farms consist of 44,000 solar panels per plant and are expected to generate power to supply to about 33,000 local homes, offsetting 175,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions annually.
