Neoen SA has started the commercial operation of the 140 MW Capella Solar photovoltaic (PV) project located in El Salvador.
The facility is composed of two photovoltaic power parks, the Albireo I and Albireo II, that have a combined installed capacity of 140 MWp (100MWac). Together, they generate enough electricity to power up 255,000 average households each year and account for 4% of the energy produced in El Salvador.
The project will supply energy to local power distribution firms Delsur, AES, EDESAL, and B&D at a price of US$49.55 per MWh under a 20-year power purchase agreements (PPAs).
