Naturgy Energy Group has started the operation of its three 50 MW solar projects in Spain, which represents a total investment of EUR100 million (US$109.4 million).
The Picón I, II, and II project is part of 250 MW portfolio secured by Naturgy Energy in an energy auction held by the Spanish government in July 2017.
The Picon I, II and III with a 50 MWp capacity each, is capable of generating 310 GWh per year and located in Porzuna, near Ciudad Real. It produces enough electricity to meet the demand of 88,500 homes and capable of offsetting around 4.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
