Naturgy has started work on its 29.2 MW wind farm on Fuerteventura in Spain's Canary Islands.
The Puerto del Rosario project will feature eight wind turbines that produce around 105 GWh of energy per year, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 42,000 homes. It will contribute to reducing more than 52,600 tons per year of pollutants and greenhouse emissions.
Over EUR35 million (US$38.8 million) will be invested in the wind farm, which will generate about 200 jobs during peak construction.
Puerto del Rosario is scheduled to come online in the first quarter of 2021.
