Naturgy is set to build the largest wind projects network in Castilla y León, Spain for a total investment of about EUR300 million (US$340.133 million).

The wind portfolio consists of nine wind parks that will be developed in 16 municipalities in the provinces of Burgos, Valladolid and Zamora. The projects involved are:

  • 6.6 MW Amp. Montejo wind project in Burgos
  • 43.2 MW Amp. Iron wind project in Zamora
  • 41.8 MW Torozos A wind project in Valladolid
  • 39.6 MW Torozos C wind project in Valladolid
  • 39.6 MW San Blas wind project in Valladolid
  • 39.6 MW Carrator wind project in Valladolid
  • 36.3 MW Teso Pardo wind project in Valladolid
  • 33 MW Torozos B wind project in Valladolid
  • 26.4 MW Mirabel wind project in Valladolid

The wind portfolio has a combined capacity of more than 300 MW and can produce up to 950 GWh of energy per year enough for the annual electricity consumption of 380 thousand homes, 24% of the totals of Castilla y León.

This infrastructure will allow displacing the use of other sources of conventional electricity generation, helping to avoid the emission of around 750 thousand tons of CO2 throughout its useful life.
