Japan's Mitsubishi UFJ Lease & Finance (Mitsubishi UFJ) has started the commercial operation of its 60.2 MW solar photovoltaic facility in Fukushima prefecture.
The project is constructed in the Namie town on about 880,000 sq.m. of land area. It can generate up to 71 GWh of energy per year that can supply about 14,500 local homes.
Mitsubishi Research Institute Inc, a unit of Mitsubishi UFJ holds a 19% stake in the solar plant and was also involved in the development of the project. Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of the project were done by Daiwa Energy Co Ltd. The financial supports of the solar project are Toho Bank Ltd and The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ and other unnamed financial institutions.
