Japan Renewable Energy Corporation (JRE) has announced that Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc. and ENEOS Corporation have agreed to invest in the Happo Noshiro Offshore Wind Power Project.
The project aims to construct and operate offshore wind farms with a maximum output capacity of 155,000 kW in the offshore Noshiro City and Happo town Akita Prefecture. The wind farm will be equipped with 22 turbines with individual capacities of between 8 MW and 10 MW.
JRE is currently conducting a range of studies, including environmental impact assessments while holding dialogue with the local community and other stakeholders.
