SunFunder, a private debt management company that supports renewable energy projects in Africa and Asia, has been acquired by Mirova, a subsidiary of Natixis Investment Managers.
Mirova and SunFunder's first goal is to launch a solar energy debt financing fund with a US$500 million investment capacity through around 70 projects scattered across Africa, Asia and Latin America. The first closing is expected to take place in the end of 2022.
Following the closing of the acquisition, the entire SunFunder team of 38 people will be retained.
