The consortium of German renewable energy developer Juwi and South African renewable project operator Sturdee Energy has been contracted by Sedibelo Platinum Mines Limited (SPM) to supply power from clean energy sources.
The planned projects are the 40 MW wind-solar plant that will be installed in two separates sites in Limpopo and Western Cape, and a 35 MW solar photovoltaic project in Rustenburg in the North West province.
The first of the two projects are expected to start commercial operation in 2024 and the second by 2026.
