JUWI Renewable Energies is planning up to 400 MW of advanced-stage engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) to power up the operation of mines in South Africa.
One of the projects included is the 89 MW Castle wind farm located in the Northern Cape province, South Africa. The project is part of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producers’ Programme (REI4P) and was initially developed by JUWI before it was sold to a division of Old Mutual Alternative Investments (OMAI, African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM).
The Castle wind project will power Sibanye-Stillwater’s local mining operations since the wind farm is commissioned.
