Mercedes-Benz plans to build a more than 100 MW wind project at its test track in Papenburg, northern Germany, to supply more than 15% of Mercedes-Benz Group AG's annual electricity demand in the country.

The company also intends to enter into a long-term power purchase agreement with a partner, equivalent to a triple-digit million euros amount. A large-scale installation of photovoltaic systems on the test site is also under examination.

Plans for the project and an ecological impact review will be carried out in close collaboration with local authorities and stakeholders.
