Lanpro has secured a Development Consent Order (DCO) on behalf of Island Green Power (IGP) for a major solar farm project in the East Midlands. The proposed Green Hill Solar Farm, located near Wellingborough in Northamptonshire and north of Milton Keynes, will span approximately 2,965 acres (1,200 hectares) and is expected to generate up to 500 MW of electricity—enough to power around 115,000 homes. The project includes extensive ecological provisions, with 190 hectares designated for biodiversity enhancements. With the DCO application now accepted for examination, the proposal enters a critical stage in the Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP) process. This development reflects the growing scale of utility-scale solar and battery storage initiatives in the UK, supporting national efforts to achieve net-zero carbon emissions.
