Kansai Electric Power Co. has started the commercial operation of 46.6 MW Rajamandala Hydropower Plant. Under the operating company, PT. Rajamandala Electric Power (REP), the project has officially started its operation on May 12, 2019, based on the commercial operation date (COD) certificate issued by PT Perusahaan Listrk Negara (PLN).

The hydropower plant is located on the Citarum River about 100 km southeast of Jakarta in West Java Province of the Republic of Indonesia. The project supplies power to Indonesian state-owned power company PLN.

In September 2007, Kansai acquired an exclusive right to develop the plant from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. In 2012, Kansai and PT Indonesia Power have jointly established REP, a special purpose company to build the plant.

REP has signed a 30-year power sale contract with PLN in August 2013. After the execution of the construction contract in March 2014 and the loan agreement in June 2014, respectively, REP commenced construction in October 2014.
