Joules Power Ltd. has started the commercial operation of a 3.2 MW floating solar photovoltaic project located on a fish pond near Nawab Auto Rice Mills (Pvt.) Ltd. in Chapainawabganj district, Bangladesh.
The project will supply clean energy to the rice milling plant through a power purchase agreement (PPA). Any excess energy from the solar farm will be supplied to the energy grid.
Joules Power has invested BDT160 million (US$1.47 million) and consists of floaters from Sungrow, solar panels from JA Solar, and inverters from SMA Solar Technology.
