Jilin Electric Company has started the construction of Da'an Wind and Solar Green Hydrogen Synthesis Ammonia Integration Demonstration Project located in an industrial park in the city of Da’an, Jilin province, China.

The project will be powered by 800 MW of wind and solar and 40 MW/80 MWh of energy storage. It will have 60,000 normal cubic meters (5.4 tonnes) of hydrogen storage and can produce 32,000 tonnes of H2 and 180,000 tonnes of NH3 per year. It will be equipped with 50 proton-exchange membranes (PEM) and 39 alkaline — capable of producing 46,000 normal cubic meters of H2 an hour and will be supplied by Longi, Sany Hydrogen, and Sungrow.

The Da’an green ammonia project, with an estimated investment of around US$880 million, has been listed as a key strategic project by both the provincial government of Jilin and the national State Power Investment Corporation.
