JERA, Aboitiz Power to explore ammonia co-firing in the Philippines

JERA Co., Inc. and Aboitiz Power Corporation have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to launch a collaborative study on ammonia co-firing for the decarbonization of Aboitiz's operations in the Philippines.

The MOU outlines the feasibility of ammonia co-firing in coal-fired power plants, which Aboitiz Power has been investing in, as well as the development of a hydrogen and ammonia supply chain in the country for the decarbonization of the company.

By providing a clean energy platform that combines renewable energy sources and low-emission thermal power, JERA Co., Inc. is committed to contributing to the growth and development of the Philippines and the world, particularly in Asia.
